An extension to an existing primary school
comprising 2 reception classes, a nursery, a children’s centre and a new school kitchen.
The project involved grouping together all early years activities to provide an integrated facility for children, parents and teachers. |

Reception classrooms are orientated toward the existing school field, the immediate external area is protected by a large cantilevered canopy to provide shade and shelter. Sunlight is brought back through the building via a series of high level windows, so all spaces, including those that are north facing receive sunlight. The Children’s centre also has a large canopy to conect the internal and external spaces. |
